AMATEUR MATCHMAKING RULES & REGULATIONS
- It is Mandatory for ALL AMATEUR Fighters who are booked on an
ISCF Sanctioned Event to be registered in the
Official ISCF Amateur Rankings BEFORE the event.
- Those who are not already ranked in the ISCF
Amateur Rankings are required to register with the ISCF.
The fee for this registration is a "ONE TIME FEE" of $25.00 ($30.00
if paying by Credit Card)
- To Register, go to www.iscfmma.com/ISCFReg.htm
- The one time fee of $25 is to be paid for the background check (To assure
they have not fought as a PRO Fighter) we do on the fighter and the registration
listing. Fighters are DIRECTLY linked to the
www.mixedmartialarts.com Fighter Database
This makes background checks and matchmaking for ISCF
Event Promoters much easier.
- REVISED SEPTEMBER, 2008
- Promoters can Add "CURRENTLY
ISCF REGISTERED FIGHTERS" to
their event Weigh-Ins with the Official
ISCF Event Representative, as long as the
ISCF Event Representative is given access
to the internet via computer to check the status of the newly added fighter in
the ISCF Rankings as well as on various
MMA Fighter Databases to be assured they have not fought professional in any
full contact fight sport.
- The ISCF Event Representative has the
right to approve or not approve the fighter from fighting based upon his/her
findings during the background check.
- In the case of a Late Replacement or
Fill-In - NOT ALREADY REGISTERED with the ISCF.
- The fee for this is a $35 ISCF
Registration Fee.
- The Promoter, Trainer or Fighter must pay to the Official ISCF Event Representative at the event weigh-ins
this Fighters Registration Fee BEFORE the event in full.
- The Promoter, Trainer or Fighter must also give to the Official ISCF Event Representative at the event weigh-ins the
"FULLY COMPLETED" fighters Registration FORM signed by the Fighter.
- It is the Responsibility of the ISCF
Event Representative to mail the fighters Registration FORM and Registration Fees to the ISCF within 72 hours following the event.
MANDATORY
ISCF AMATEUR Matchmaking Rules
"Amateur
Fighter Registration & Background Checking."
There are a lot of MMA fighters today that fight as an Amateur
one weekend, a Pro the next, and back as an Amateur the next weekend. Well, this
we cannot and WILL NOT have happen on an ISCF
Sanctioned event. Our ISCF Sanctioned
Promoters and Matchmakers are the ones that need to assure it does NOT happen on
an ISCF Sanctioned event. As we pointed
out in an article on the ISCF News page
some time back, some people feel Amateur MMA needs to be banned. We here at the
ISCF feel instead, that it needs
accountability.
The ISCF has made it a
MANDATORY requirement for ALL
ISCF Promoters that have ANY Amateurs
on their events to have them PRE APPROVED by the ISCF Headquarters to fight as an AMATEUR on an ISCF Sanctioned Event.
This Means The Following:
- ALL ISCF Sanctioned Amateur MMA
Promoters are required to send in their Amateur Fighter list a minimum of "5"
Days Prior to their scheduled event.
- Some fighters on this list may not be matched up as of yet, however, to get
them approved to fight, they need to be listed on this pre-fight list which is
listed below each event listing on the ISCF
Upcoming Events Page.
- When the Amateur Fighters list is submitted, the ISCF
will confirm or deny each listed fighter. This will assure each is indeed an
AMATEUR fighter. This will be confirmed or denied by checking "SEVERAL"
fighter data bases available to the ISCF
as noted below.
- ADDITIONAL FEES
- Each Fighter's name submitted on a promoters Fight Card has to be
researched under 5-6 different databases to assure various things such as, are
they registered with the ISCF, have they
fought Pro in Boxing, Kickboxing or MMA along with several other checks. These
background checks take time. Because of these checks, the following rules apply
for events with Amateur Fighters on them:
- AMATEUR BOUT LIMIT
- The Promoters Sanctioning fee covers up to 24 AMATEUR Fighters. For each
additional fighter over 24 there is a $5 Fee PER FIGHTER or $10 Per Bout fee
over 12 bouts. This Fee Must Be Paid Before Event.
- SPELLING ERROR
- When a fighter's name is submitted wrong, it forces additional work on
those doing the many required background checks. We URGE Promoters to check and
re-check the names they submit for their fightcards as well as check to assure,
if an ISCF registered fighter, that the name they send us is spelled the EXACT
SAME WAY as the name they are registered under. Knowing this, if A Fighter's
Name Is Submitted With The Wrong Spelling, There Is A $10.00 Fee PER Mis-Spelled
Name. This Fee Must Be Paid Before Event.
- COLOR CODES
- GREEN: Those fighters approved to
fight as AMATEURS on an ISCF
Sanctioned event will be listed in GREEN
under each event listing on the ISCF Upcoming Events page for all to
view.
- BLUE: Those fighters names found to
be Professional Fighters will be shown in BLUE
under each event listing on the ISCF Upcoming Events page for all to view
with the notice that they are not allowed to fight as an Amateur MMA fighter on
an ISCF Sanctioned Amateur Event.
- RED: Amateur MMA Fighters listed in
REDare NOT
CLEARED to fight on this listed event and they MUST register by
CLICKING HERE.
- PURPLE: The ISCF
has Received a Registration FORM
from the Fighter but no Registration FEES. Fees Are Still Due before being
approved to fight. These fees are best paid to ISCF
Office before the event but in the case of a Late Replacement or Fill-In, the
Promoter may pay the Official ISCF Event
Representative at the event weigh-ins. After doing so, it is the Responsibility
of the ISCF Event Representative to mail
the fighters Registration FORM
and Registration Fees to the ISCF within
72 hours following the event.
- BURGUNDY: ISCF
has Received the Fighters Registration FEES (Over the phone by CC or mailed
etc..) but no Registration
FORM. Before being approved to fight, Fighter/Promoter must FAX the
Fighters COMPLETED Registration
FORM to the ISCF at
916.663.4510 as well as hand the original to the ISCF
Event representative at the event weigh-ins.
- It is the official responsibility of the ISCF
Event Representative to allow ONLY those
fighters confirmed as Approved Amateur Fighters (After the event weigh-ins) to
fight on the ISCF Sanctioned Event as
Amateur Fighters.
PENALTY, FINES
&
SUSPENSIONS
- PENALTY, FINES & SUSPENSIONS FOR
PRO FIGHTERS FIGHTING AS AN AMATEUR
- OFFENDING FIGHTER
- If a Fighter lies about his/her fight background such as not revealing
he/she fought as a PRO fighter in ANY Fight Sport to the ISCF Event Matchmaker as well as the Representatives
of the ISCF, the following will take
place:
- They will be fined $1,000.00.
- They will be suspended for a minimum of 60 days up to 12 months.
- Within the posted press release explained about the event, the offending
fighter name will be listed in the Article.
- They will be placed on the Suspended Fighters list located on each Ranking
Page.
- The time of suspension & amount of the Fine will be determined at time
of infraction.
- OFFENDING TRAINER
- If a Trainer lies about his/her fighters background such as not revealing
he/she fought as a PRO fighter in ANY Fight Sport to the ISCF Event Matchmaker as well as the Representatives
of the ISCF, the following will take
place:
- They will be fined a minimum of $1,000.00.
- They will be suspended for a minimum of 30 days up to 12 months.
- Within the posted press release about the event, the offending trainers
name will be listed in the Article.
- They will be placed on the Suspended Trainers List located
HERE
- The time of suspension & amount of the Fine will be determined at time
of infraction.
- OFFENDING PROMOTER
- Those
ISCF Promoters who somehow have a
Professional MMA fighter, Professional Boxer or Kickboxer fight as an amateur
MMA Fighter on an ISCF Sanctioned Amateur
Event and it is determined they had been informed of such will face the
following Penalties & Fines:
- They will be fined a minimum of $1,000.00 "Per"
Professional Fighter.
- They will be suspended as a Promoter & Official for a minimum of 30
days up to 12 months. The actual time of the suspension will be determined by
the ISCF.
- Within the posted press release about the event, the offending fighter name
will be listed in the Article.
- The Fighter(s) will be placed on the Suspended Fighters list located on
their Ranking Page.
- The Promoters name will be listed in the Suspended Promoters Page located
HERE
- HOWEVER, if all background checks done by the ISCF showed no previous Pro experience for a fighter
and it was later discovered that he/she had fought as a Professional in any
fight sport, there was not much the promoter or the
ISCF could have done in the first place.
- On the other hand, if for example, a fighter who the promoter requests to
be added to the fight card just before the event (that the ISCF never had
time to check) turns out to be a Professional, the Promoter would take all
responsibility of the Fighter and be Suspended and Fined.
- It is the promoter/matchmakers responsibility to assure that the list of
amateur MMA Fighters they send in to the ISCF
headquarters for background check are indeed a list of AMATEURS. Promoters and
Matchmakers can verify this on their own by checking the following locations;
- To be assured of a LEGAL Fight Card, All Promoters and Matchmakers should
check ALL of these listings BEFORE THEY
SUBMIT THEIR FIGHTER LIST TO THE ISCF.
- Hopefully this new rule will eliminate all the Pro MMA fighters who jump
back and forth. If they do it on other Sanctioned events, so be it, but we will
no longer tolerate it on ANY ISCF Sanctioned
events.
- PENALTY, FINES & SUSPENSIONS FOR
NON ISCF APPROVED AMATEUR FIGHTERS
WHO FIGHT ON
ISCF SANCTIONED EVENT
- OFFENDING PROMOTER
Those
ISCF Promoters who somehow talk their ISCF Event Representative into having a NON ISCF Approved Amateur
Fighter fight on their event will face the following Penalties & Fines:
- They will be fined a minimum of $500.00 Per Fighter.
- Depending on the infraction (First time, second offense, etc.) They
could be suspended as a Promoter & Official for up to 12 months or later if
their fine is not paid.
- The ISCF Event Representative will
also be Fined and Suspended for allowing the Promoter to Break the ISCF Amateur MMA Fighter Pre-Approval Rule. See
below.
- OFFENDING FIGHTER
- Any Amateur Fighter, fighting on an ISCF
Sanctioned Event that has not been PRE-APPROVED by the ISCF, will be placed on the Suspended Fighters list
located on their Rankings Page.
- The length of the suspension will be a minimum of 30 days.
- A Fine could be presented to the Offending Fighter as well. Such Fines
start at $250.00 and go up as determined by the actual infraction.
- If the suspended fighter chooses to fight on any other fight event (MMA,
Kickboxing or Boxing) during their suspension and or before paying their
fine to the ISCF, (No matter who
sanctions the event they fight on) they will be fined an additional amount.
They could be banned from fighting on an ISCF
Sanctioned event for longer, or indefinitely.
- Amateur MMA Fighters can check to see if they have been approved for an
event by looking at the Fight Card which is always listed on the
ISCF
Upcoming Events page prior to ALL ISCF
Sanctioned Amateur Events. The events page can be found
HERE.
- OFFENDING ISCF
EVENT REPRESENTATIVE
- If for some reason an ISCF Event
Representative allows a NON APPROVED Amateur MMA Fighter to
fight on an ISCF Sanctioned Amateur event,
they will be fined a minimum of $500.00 per fighter he or she allows to fight
under his or her approval.
- The actual amount of the fine itself will be determined after the ISCF hears the circumstances as to WHY this
happened in the first place.
- The ISCF Event Representative will be
suspended from being an ISCF Event
Representative or working ANY ISCF
Sanctioned event as an ISCF Official for a
time determined by the ISCF.
Clearing Up The Possible Confusion On
The Rule
For The Amateur MMA Fighter.
Some Amateur MMA fighters and Promoters are wondering WHY
they are required to pay a $25 fee to fight as an Amateur on an ISCF Sanctioned event. However, if they look closer,
they may realize they DO NOT have to pay this fee if they
already meet one of two others requirements.
The new rule was put into place because of the many infractions
of Pro MMA fighters who keep thinking it's OK to go back and fight as an
Amateur.
Here is the Rule;
- ALL ISCF Promoters who plan
to have Amateur MMA bouts on their event are required to send to the ISCF by e-mail A PRE-FIGHT list of all
proposed Amateur bouts and or Amateur Fighters.
- From this list the ISCF will check
the fighters background.
- If a fighter is in the ISCF Rankings, and listed as an AMATEUR
fighter, they do not have to register as a fighter with the ISCF.
- If a fighter is listed in the
www.mixedmartialarts.com Fighter Database as
a PRO, but listed in the ISCF Rankings as
an Amateur, we will do further research to confirm or deny the fighter is indeed
a pro, or was mistakenly placed in the
www.mixedmartialarts.com Fighter Database as
a Pro. We may need additional assistance from the fighter, trainer and the event
promoter where they were listed as a pro fighter on to confirm or deny these
issues.
- If a fighter is listed in the
www.mixedmartialarts.com Fighter Database as
a PRO they will NOT be allowed to fight as an Amateur.
- However, if the fighter and or trainer deny having ever fought as a Pro MMA
fighter, they are required to send to the ISCF
all contact info of the promoter where the fighter was listed as having a pro
fight.
- If we do not receive any such contact info, the fighter will remain a PRO
and will NOT be allowed to fight as an amateur again.
- If the promoter confirms he/she paid the fighter a fight purse, the fighter
will remain a PRO and will NOT be allowed to fight as an amateur again.
- If a fighter is NOT in the ISCF Rankings,
as an Amateur then they are required to register with the ISCF by clicking
